Commission FAQs
1
Pricing
I currently offer three standard commission sizes:
A5: £95
A4: £145 (approx. US letter size)
9 x 12: £155
Commissions include the original painting and a high-resolution scan of your artwork. A scan of your painting can be safely printed up to 2-3 times the size of the original!
Personal rights to the artwork are included by default, which means you can print personal copies, or share your painting online as long as it’s credited.

Commercial Licenses
A commercial licence can be added to your commission.
Book Licence (£125): Ongoing use of the artwork inside, or on the cover of, one named book, including print, ebook and audiobook editions, plus promotion of that book. There’s no copy limit or renewal fee.
Other commercial uses (£50+): Licences for art prints, packaging and merchandise start at £50, with pricing based on the intended use and quantity.
I retain copyright to my artwork. Any exclusivity or additional uses can be agreed seperately - please get in touch if you'd like to discuss! To discuss your project, please get in touch!

Shipping
UK: UK shipping of the original artwork is included free of charge.
US: Shipping to the US is £10, and will be added to your final invoice.
EU: Unfortunately due to recent legislation changes, I’m currently unable to ship physical artwork to most EU countries. EU customers are still welcome to commission a painting, but will receive only a high-resolution digital scan rather than the original artwork. I can currently ship to Germany, Netherlands and Belgium.
Other locations: Shipping to most other countries is available and will be quoted.

Deposit
Approximately one week before your commission slot, I’ll send an invoice for a non-refundable deposit, which is required to commence your commission. This deposit will be relative to the size of the booking but is typically between £25-50 - this will be in your booking confirmation. The deposit will be deducted from your total.
If you do not pay your deposit by your commission start date, I may need to release your slot to avoid a knock-on effect for subsequent bookings. The remaining balance, along with any applicable shipping costs, is due once the painting is complete and before the original or digital files are released.
5
Payment
The final payment will be due once the artwork is complete - I will share a photograph of your painting, and request the final balance. As soon as the balance is paid I’ll scan your artwork and share the digital file, then prepare your original for shipping.
Payment details will be provided on the invoices sent for your deposit and final payment. Payment via card or bank transfer is available.

Final Artwork
Unlike digital art, acrylic or oil painting, it's usually impossible to repaint or significantly alter finished areas of watercolour without damaging the artwork. This is due to the transparent nature of watercolour.
For that reason, I ask that all major changes are made during the sketch stage. Minor adjustments or additions may occasionally be possible, but I can't guarantee them.
If you are deeply unhappy with the final result, I will retain the artwork and we can end the commission slot. The deposit is non-refundable in this circumstance, but the remaining balance will be written off.
